Academic Council is the Advisory Body to the Principal for all academic and disciplinary affairs of the College. Principal of the College is the Chairperson of the Council and Heads of all Departments are the members of the Council. The Academic Council comprises of the following members/teachers (one third of the members will make quorum).

- One Associate Professor (on senior basis, if more than one) from each of the Departments

Students Attendance
Student attendances are recorded in Attendance Registers. Attendance reports are sent to the Parents/ Guardians on a quarterly basis.
Course Structure & Duration
The MBBS course is divided into four phases:
N.B.: All academic activities including professional examination of each phase must be completed within the specified time of the phase.
Curriculum & Syllabus
The Curriculum adopted by the faculty of Medicine, Rajshahi Medical University of Rajshahi and approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) will be used.

Large Group Teaching

Practical Session:
- Use of practical manual
- Performing the task/ examination by the student

Field Placement (Community based Medical Education):
- In small groups for performing activities by the student themselves
Clinical Teaching:
- In ward, OPD, OT, POW, ED, ICU, etc.
- By concerned persons
Integrated teaching:
Encourage to learn ICT through computer lab of the College.
Assessment:
- There will be in-course (Item/Card/Term) and end-course (Professional) assessments for the students in each Phase (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Phases) of the course, i.e. formative and professional examinations.
- Formative assessment will be done through results of Items, Card and Term ending examination and class attendance.
- For formative assessment, 10% marks will be reserved for professional work.
- For Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of each Paper, 20% marks are allocated. There will be a separate answer script for MCQ part of examination and total number of MCQ 20.
- For Short Answer Questions (SAQs) of each Paper, 70% marks are allocated.
- Oral part of the examination will be structured (SOE).
- Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE)/Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) will be used for assessing skills/ competencies. Traditional long and short cases will be also used for clinical assessment.
- There will be Phase Final Professional Examination within the each academic Phase.
Eligibility for appearing in the Professional Examinations:
- Certificate from the respective Heads of Departments regarding student’s obtaining at least 75% attendance in all classes (Theory, Practical, Tutorial, Residential Field Practice, Clinical Placement, etc.) during the Phase.
- Obtaining at least 60% marks in all Term Final Examinations.
- No student shall be allowed to appear in the Professional Examinations unless the student passes in all the subjects of the previous Professional Examination(s).
Pass Marks:
Pass marks is 60%. Student shall have to pass written (MCQ+SAQ+Formative), Oral, Practical and Clinical Examinations separately.
